Essay on teaching philosophy in a public High School

As for my elementary education, I went to the Escola de Primeiro Grau São José between 1988-1996, a school funded by the Círculo Operário, a union of metallurgical workers strongly tied with the catholic church. This humble but excellent school closed a few years ago - and it is very unfortunate that, until today, there is no historical research about the school.

In high school (1997-1999), I got a scholarship to another Catholic (but non-unionized and not humble) school, the Colégio Notre Dame Aparecida. There, I had my first big frustrating experiences with Mathematics; there, my Chemistry teacher lent me a philosophy book that would lead me to so many others, and finally to take a degree in philosophy.
